Comfy Library Slippers

I’m making these for a library basket which will be auctioned off to raise money. Started September 6th.

I have not yet decided what to use for the coordinating color. I may just use a carrying weight fur but only on the outside rather than as a lining.

I’m teaching myself to cable without a needle on this project (upper portion has a lattice cable), using Wendy’s method.

I’m nervous about the finishing work because so much of it is done in pieces!

Update, October: The finishing work wasn’t as bad as I thought. However, the diagram was a little confusing, and I really wasn’t sure how it was all going to go together. If I had understood more, I would have made the inner sole longer. I used the fuzzy yarn to sew the inner sole in to make it softer.

Rather than joining the fuzzy with the solid color, it looked better to just use two strands of fuzzy for the cuff.

Overall, it was hard to give these up because they turned out really cushy and nice! I hope someone really gets to enjoy them. 🙂
