took the idea of Sister Janie, expanded the width of the motif, and then stretched the space between increase/decrease rows out. Like a waterfall!
Started out doing bottom up with plans to kitchener, but then my cast on wasn’t as pretty as I liked, so I flipped it on end and seamed up the cast on edge for the top. did several tack stitches to define the ears. It’s a little loose after wearing all day, but not bad….
first try on needles was too tight. stayed with needle size B for the entire tubular cast on, which was a touch loose when all was said and done, but way stretchier.
adapted to add a seed stitch button panel to the Barley pattern. bought the buttons at OFFF with the hope to make this hat and then found the yarn on destash 🙂

unblocked gauge: 24st/4” x 17rows/2” blocked gauge: 23st/4” x 18rows/2” sizing due to gauge being looser (and liking the fabric), sizing down. the 42” size should make a 45.5” (262st5.75 in new gauge). Bust measurement is 44 1/2. Cast on for 42”. Knit anytime it has a distance, use 46” size. 12 increases for armhole…
