gauge is 6 st/in, between fingering and DK on needles in between those as well. Casting on the fingering size 12mo and it will just be slightly big so she can wear it longer probably doing short sleeves.

unblocked gauge: 24st/4” x 17rows/2” blocked gauge: 23st/4” x 18rows/2” sizing due to gauge being looser (and liking the fabric), sizing down. the 42” size should make a 45.5” (262st5.75 in new gauge).
